Painted plein-air on one of Norwich’s most historic streets, Pottergate is the very essence of community. Uniquely to Norwich, Pottergate Street and the wider lanes are their own micro-economy of thriving independent shops and restaurants. The painting itself was to celebrate the opening of J.C Pinto, co-owned by a friend of Pinch and later used in the poster design of John Briggs’ sell-out show “Norwich: A Love Story” at The Playhouse Theatre.

Pottergate Street is Pinch’s favorite place to be, and the epitome of their sense of belonging as a member of the Norwich small business and arts communities.
